CDAS User Group Spring & Summer Programs
Starting up in May
All the Cochrane & District Agricultural Society user groups are getting ready to launch their Spring and Summer programs and camps in the coming months. The outdoor equine and cycling season is here and all our user groups welcome new members and interested inquiries.

Dave Elliott Bit Clinic
Thursday May 22nd, 2025 Dave Elliott is a master of all the principles of bitting, specializing in individual and custom fitted pieces for your horse. Hailing from Fort MacLeod AB, Dave is the owner of Elliott Bit & Spur. To ensure better design of horse bits, Dave employs a measured technique that includes analyzing the anatomy of the horse, training techniques and bit mechanics. The clinic will include a full day of personal bit education, fitting, and riding for 12 lucky participants! Start time of 9am on Thursday May 22nd at the Ag Society Indoor Arena. Prepare for a full day with you and your horse (tentative end time of 4pm). $330 per person - lunch is included courtesy of sponsorship by Equine Edge Acuscope & Myopulse! Cochrane Pet Expo
Saturday May 31st, 2025 Enjoy a fun-filled day with all things animals at the Cochrane & District Agricultural Society. Fun-goers to this year’s event can take in learning opportunities, get their pet portraits taken, shake their tail feathers at in-person demos, and wolf down some tasty treats from food trucks. Delight in family-friendly activities such as face painting, petting zoo, and more! Exciting vendors will also showcase the latest pet products, such as food, clothing and unique accessories to make your non-human bestie stand out from the pack! CDAS Obstacle Playday
June 14th, 2025 To promote horsemanship and give riders extra opportunities to gain experience, the Cochrane & District Ag Society will be hosting a series of open ride obstacle playdays. Our next Obstacle Playday, taking place Saturday June 14th, will offer four open ride time slots starting at 8:30am, all with custom made cowboy obstacles. Get some extra time in the saddle before your next cowboy challenge! Spectators welcome. Registrations opening soon. June 21st-22nd, 2025 Another year of premium eventing at the Cochrane Ag Grounds!
